Originally built in the 18th Century, the Dresdner Frauenkirch has one of the largest domes in Europe, demolished in February 1945 during the devastating Allied bombing raids detailed in Kurt Vonnegut's novel Slaughterhouse Five; only fully rebuilt following the Re-unification of Germany, finished in 2004 and reconsecrated the following year.
