High rollers

This is the scene that greeted me when I opened my hotel room door in Amsterdam this morning. It was an interesting place to stay, a hotel created inside an old tram depot, with the tram rails still preserved in the floor in several places around the foyer and outside on the terrace.

Amsterdam was Volkswagen's choice for the launch of the new Touran, and it is a challenging place to drive, with so many criss-crossing cyclists, pedestrians, trams and other traffic in some quite narrow roads.

These high-roller acrobats in a fetching shade of lime were just some of the rather unusual adornments throughout the hotel. Others included a row of miniaturised Terracotta Warrior figures perched high up in the breakfast room. I hope to go back to the same hotel another time, as there is so much there worth blipping!
