Complicated Sky

Up until about 4 o'clock this afternoon, Guernsey had enjoyed wall-to-wall blue skies and temperatures peaking at about 28 Celsius ...
In other words, 'a good old fashioned summers day' ...
So inevitably it was almost bound to culminate into a thundery breakdown ... (which, of course, it did) ...
Although the thunderstorm actually past by to the west of the island, it did produce some spectacular forks of lightning ...
Unfortunately I was unable to capture any of the lightning strikes, so I had to make do with this rather interesting display of sunlight and cloud ...
Maybe one day I'll capture a lightning bolt (in picture form, I hasten to add) ... :o)
