Canal Festival

Summer seems to arrived quite suddenly in Edinburgh, and at the same time as the Canal Festival. Loads of stuff for families to do, and stalls offering information and selling stuff. My partner and I bought some homemade fudge. Tastes very nice and light, creamy without being too sweet or too solid.

This was taken from the bridge at Viewforth. There's a queue for trips on the canal barges, one of which is just pulling up. The grey bridge is the the Leamington Lift Bridge, which rises to provide access to Lochrin Basin, the terminus of the Union Canal in Edinburgh. It looks very busy down there.
