A Drink on the Patio

The hottest day of the decade so they say, at least for Londoners. I am pretty sure it's not that good in the northern islands, but they are only given a cursory mention in the BBC weather forecasts.
Here in the central belt of Scotland, it's certainly the hottest and most sultry day this year, but the sun is a bit uncertain of whether to stay out or hide behind a bank of cloud as it did yesterday.

His Lordship has disappeared to the hills while I decided to take the bike out for a spin to remember what it felt like to be on two wheels again. Bumpy is the adjective that comes to mind when the roads are a mine field of potholes and patched Tarmac which cannot be avoided because of other passing traffic.

I intend to sit on my own under the garden umbrella on the patio this afternoon and toast the day with a small bottle of Prosecco saved from Mother's Day. It has been the subject of much amusement and not a little ridicule from His Lordship, who does not believe in  saving wine.
