Far from the Madding Crowd

Went to see the remake of Far from the Madding Crowd this evening.  I was was 14  or 15 when I saw the original  and can still vividly remember many scenes includng Terence Stamp's blue eyes.  The new version did not seem to capture the emotion or depth of characters but perhaps thats the 15 year old in me talking.  The remake is very beautiful,  the actor who plays Gabriel Oak was excellent and Carey Mulligan is very watchable,

The film was showing in the former Holy Trinity Church in Tunbridge Wells  which has been a theatre now since 1982. There are a still a few graves in the grounds hiding away, far from the madding crowds of shoppers.
