In the nettle jungle

This morning it was the meeting of the monthly birdwatching group. It was very hot and muggy so we went to a local nature reserve on the Montgomery Canal which had trees for a bit of shade. We didn't see many birds as they did a good job of alerting us with their songs then hiding behind leaves!

There were a lot of damselflies (extra photo) and a few dragonflies and demoiselles around.

We continued to the reserve a little way down the canal but our way was blocked by this wall of nettles. These two men were brave enough to go through but the rest of us didn't fancy the stings so went back the same way.
