The Big Cruise Day 36: Tranquil mooring

The Macclesfield Canal is beautiful, peaceful and seemingly with very little boat traffic compared with the Llangollen Canal. But there have been many interesting pictures. Congleton's very pleasant wharf where we paused, the 12 Bosley locks in their tranquil setting, the developing high scenery as we approach the High Peak, a Mandarin duck and another electrically operated swing bridge.

Oh yes, and a completely unexpected and violent hailstorm while we were in open country negotiating the last of the Bosley locks. Perhaps the weather hasn't done with us yet after all.

Here is the tranquil mooring for tonight. That swing bridge you can see is behind us. The Mandarin has gone back to the nest. Lovely.

Did I say tranquil? The A523(T) passes by just behind that cottage at Oakgrove. Never mind, we've done enough today. Sweet dreams.

[Explanation: Big Cruise Blips begin on 9th April (where there's an introduction) and last nearly 8 weeks with a break in the middle. I am catching up with the back-blipping]
