Butterflies

We battled our way through the damsel flies and brown butterflies as we explored a footpath (new to us) around another lake in the nature reserve. We have no idea what these are.

We were lucky enough to see a family of crested Grebes with one of  the young being carried on Mum's back but they were rather too far off to take a clear picture.  Fortunately we returned to the car just before a shower of light rain and unfortunately after some nasty big black flies had feasted on my arm and leg leaving huge, angry, itchy swellings.  Home and a cutting of aloe vera squeezed over them to reduce the itch and the swelling.  Fingers crossed it works as well as it does for mosquitos!
