Drumin Castle

Built around the late 1370's by the rather brutal Alexander Stewart, the Earl of Buchan, otherwise known as "The Wolf of Badenoch".

It has 2m walls and was occupied up until the 18th century when it fell into disuse and was 'quarried' for building stone for local buildings such as the local farm which now has this splendid ruin in its fine back garden.

It is also just round the corner from the even more shplendid Glenlivet distillery which has a great cafe, free tours and tastings.
