Oxford Life

I took some fun shots from the bus this evening to illustrate for those who live in less odd places the entertainment that is the Oxford University exam traditions. The top left shot shows a couple of younger students, the rest are final years. All Oxford University students sit their exams in full academic dress, and wearing a carnation. A white carnation is required for your first exam, a red for your last exams and pink for the ones in between. Once your final exam is over, you and your friends go rather mad! You can see what the celebrations look like here!

This was as interesting as the journey home got, and it was a long one.Unfortunately about half way home a woman fell down the stairs and hurt herself, so we had to wait for an ambulance to come and take her to hospital to be properly checked out. I don't think it was that serious, but she was in a lot of pain, poor woman.
