Here we go again (again)

On It

This weekend is one of my absolute favourites in the whole year, as it's the weekend the British Superbike Championship visits my local track at Knockhill.
I go there as often as possible, but it's something special when these guys come to town.

The racing doesn't actually happen until Sunday, today is "Free Practice", when the riders take the chance to learn the track and the teams fine tune the bike settings.

I arrived too late to see the main class, but I did catch the Junior Superstock class, which is where the next generation of young talent learn their trade.

This is 17 year old Tom Carne from Haslingden , Lancashire, accelerating out of the 3rd gear Clark corner onto the back straight.
You can tell  how hard he's accelerating as the front wheel is barely touching the tarmac and the back tyre is deforming under the force.
Seriously impressive stuff.

You can see some more shots from today's action here
Please check back in tomorrow & Sunday for more action shots
