The Tor From Ebbor Gorge

We took a hike today around Ebbor Gorge which sits on the side of the Mendip Hills above Wookey Hole. About half way round, after a scramble through the steepest and narrowest part of the gorge, you find yourself on a cliff edge with this view across the Levels and Glastonbury Tor.

When we got back to the car two off duty policemen were sur ring the blown out front tyre on their car, the result of a close encounter with a sharp stone in a narrow lane. We gave one of them a lift to where his car was parked so that he could sort out some breakdown recovery from police HQ.

We rewarded ourselves with a pint and baguette at the Queen Victoria pub in Priddy, a lovely old flagstone floored pub, popular with potholers.
