CAT D9T

Mrs F and I went off for a wee drive tonight and headed up to see what changes there have been at the opencast site.  There have been quite a number of changes since I was last up and it appears that some of the pits are now being filled in and reinstated to their former state.

While we were driving along we did spot a large Hawk or Kestrel sitting in the road.  It didn’t sit there long and by the time the camera was in my hand it was off to hide amongst the rocks.

So for today it will have to be the big boy’s toys for the blip.  This guy was happily building and earth berm around the next area to be worked with his CAT D9T dozer.  At 49 tonnes this is one of the largest machines they build and it can certainly shift the earth.  Although it can only move at 7 miles per hour so it is unlikely to be any good in a race.
