Nature's bounty

Part of my 3 hours spent in the allotment was devoted to squashing larvae of asparagus beetle. I have been fighting a battle with the adults and killed well over 200 when I stopped counting.   But today I swear more larvae hatched and grew to 1/2 cm every time I turned my back.  I went down the line every time I stopped doing something back breaking like picking fruit - gooseberries, loganberries, black and red currants and 2 strawberries.  This afternoon I strung and topped and tailed the fruits for freezing as I watched with an eye on Wimbledon

Is it the weather that has helped the asparagus beetle and has anyone else had the same problem?  I seem to go to sleep and wake up dreaming of the pesky things
