A Shower of Light

It rained in torrents for most of the day today, but then toward evening the rain stopped and the sun came out.

Here we see a third 'lonesome pine' - one that I've struggled to capture successfully up to now - in the middle of a field between Blairdaff and Monymusk, surrounded this evening by a shroud of mist shot through with shafts of evening sunlight.

Incidentally, there was a dog barking at a nearby farm while I was photographing the scene, and the bark was echoing off the stand of conifers in the distance as if from a brick wall!
