George Washington Carver

This is at Carver High School, which opened as a segregated school in 1946 called Phoenix Union Colored High School. It's now a museum.

Today is my 500th day in Phoenix. Technically I've lived here longer, but days I'm not in Phoenix (vacation, other trips) are days I'm not in Phoenix. Goofy milestone? Either way, it's day 500 in Phoenix for me. I know by the number of photos I have.

Non-U.S. people, George Washington Carver was born into slavery. He researched peanuts and other crops. He's credited with inventing peanut butter.
