Welcome Stranger

He was sitting outside the iconic City Cafe; we chatted for a bit and he offered to buy me a coffee, but when I reciprocated with a pecan tart, he refused because it was not halal.  Said he was from northern Pakistan and there were security incidents daily.  After a bit, we went inside the cafe and the pizza maker / chef warmly welcomed the stranger who had only arrived in Canada a couple of weeks ago.
