Burj Khalifa

Hollie was at work today so Abbie and I spent the day being proper tourists. Went up the worlds tallest building, wandered about the impressive Dubai Mall and saw the Dubai fountains.

So far i'm realising that Dubai is a crazy place in the middle of the desert that is still largely being built. The contrast between new and old/ rich and poor is so evident when you look down from the Burj Khalifa. The new city is largely built along the main metro/road links and dispered amongst the older stuff. And the the very impressive Dubai fountains indicate just how much money they have. Water is scarce in the dessert and yet they can afford ridiculous and beautiful fountains!

The extra photo shows the view looking onto the fountains from the Burj Khalifa.
