Agios Nikolaos Day 3

A nice quiet, lazy day today. After Carl's morning swim we had breakfast where we had it before (it's nice to be given cake at breakfast time). A quick stop for water, and we reported to the harbour for a tour on the little train. We saw parts of town that are new to us, then climbed up past two of the other beaches and up to a point where there was a dramatic view back along the coast. Such blue water! Such glorious bright sunshine! Such spectacular scenery! We retraced our steps for most of the way back and then entered a newly developed area and wound our way back to the harbour past the marina and our local beach. A ninety-minute trip which was well worth taking.

I'd bought myself a nice shirt yesterday and went back along the main shopping street to pick it up, after which Carl went a-wandering while I went back for a siesta. Drinks on the balcony later, and then a nice meal in Maistrali at our beach finished off the day.

Results of the referendum were coming in as we ate and we watched the TV coverage. Things were running at 60/40 for a No vote by the time we left. I wonder what the future holds now, for Greece and for the EU?
