Waikato River Trail

Today Blair and I got dropped off at Atiamuri at the start of the Waikato River Trail hoping to ride through to Mangakino. We got as far as Wakamaru after 27 km of the trail. The first part where this photo was taken was a lovely ride, but the last 11 km was a huge effort of steep hills, mud and dodging rocks and trees. Came away feeling absolutely knackered but happy that we got through the tough section. A few war wounds, fell off twice after hitting a couple of trees but all good! Looking forward to doing more of the trail in the future.
