River Mole

The last time I blipped the River Mole at Leatherhead it was in full flood and the water was filling the arches of the ancient bridge. Now, the river is low and tranquil. It will be a while before it does its "Mole" trick when the water is so low it flows under the gravel bed of the river, and through swallow holes. Back in the 1970s I walked with my children along the river bed, quite an adventure!
There is talk of making the river more of a feature in Leatherhead, with riverside cafes etc. Now it is just a pleasant walk, away from the centre of the town.
