Is this normal? 
I bought a tomtom satnav this morning (at a very reasonable price), connected it up to the laptop to charge etc. after lunch and waited. 
I'm still waiting, and at this rate, it will be updating itself all night.

Edit: I'm on the third try now, seven hours in and it's up to 29 percent with 51 hours remaining.  Much more reasonable, so fingers crossed.

Edit 2: 10.30am (twelve hours after starting) it reads 50 percent done with 31 hours remaining.
