Which came first...

Was it the house or the tower? Was the tower for water, watch or defence ? I've got all the answers because its written on a sign which indicates this is an historic building. The tower, one of many, was built in the fourteen century to look out for marauders from other parts of the Mediterranean who regularly visited the Balearic islands for various reason including capture for slavery. So not very nice!! More recently they have been a incorporated into fine homes such as this one on the edge of Sant Lluis in Menorcan. Well thats what it said on the sign!
