Monotree

Today's challenge for MonoMonday is winter.  Being in the height of summer this was not easy but looking out of the window at dusk I noticed the Christmas tree at the bottom of the garden.  My father bought it about 30 years ago from a place near his boyhood home and for a few years it was brought into their house for Christmas until it became too big.  Now it must be about 7 or 8 metres tall and instead of being decorated with Christmas baubles, birds fly in and out of its branches while a blackbird uses it as a perch to sing its glorious song.
