Memorial Window

The organist at St Botolph's had asked me to take some photos of windows in the church for a project she is doing.

Her candidate windows included this one, installed in memory of Alfred Hinchcliff, killed in WWI in 1916, and of his mother who died in 1948.

The upper part of the window shows The Annunciation while the bottom shows the visit of the shepherds to view the new-born Jesus and his family.

The window presumably dates from at least the late 1940s or early 1950s.
