Dinner out

Such a busy fun day today.

BabyCyclops was in great spirits though he was a bit of an early riser, so cyclops took him on a walk about Whitby and up to the Abbey.

We then all set off for a day out on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to see the steam trains.  We rode the 10am train up to Grosmont where we got off and had a look at the locomotive sheds, then we got back on another train to the end of the line at Pickering.

It was throwing it down in Pickering, but we had a nice pub lunch and when the rain subsided a little we wandered about the town and also had a look at the castle.

Then we got the 4pm train back to Whitby.  We had our own compartment (photo here) which was fun.

BabyCyclops enjoyed looking at everything, going through tunnels, and hearing the noises and smelling the smells of the steam train.  We saw loads of dogs which is his favourite.

Things were going well so BabyCyclops stayed up late for our first proper dinner out as a family.  We went to the Quayside fish and chip restaurant.  BabyCyclops had fish and chips and mushy peas (yes, that big plate is his that he is manhandling), though he mainly ate the fish.  He loved that though and was adequately well behaved so we night even do it again sometime!
