Life is like a river

The 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage

Today was a special day for women in Iceland.

In the words of Paul Fontaine:
"Icelanders today celebrated the 100th anniversary of women getting the right to vote. In honour of this occasion, many downtown streets were closed to car traffic, numerous work places gave their female employees half days or the whole day off, and Icelanders of all genders enjoyed festivities downtown."
More HERE and HERE.

I continued my browsing of museums and galleries (saw a great photo-exhibition at Þjóðminjasafnið), had a lovely lunch at Matarkistan, watched our former president Vigdís Finnbogadóttir give a speech at Austurvöllur, saw 100 breasts being lit in Ráðhúsið and in the evening I enjoyed a great concert in Harpa (thank you Arna!)

A few extra photos today, there was so much I'd like to remember!
