At the end of the day.

A year ago the picture was of Mr Tbay Jnr and Raymond inside the forager, and the caption was On the inside. Today Raymond has been with us all at the Countryside Day where he was driving the forager. I would have loved to have taken a picture of the wonderful class I took round but alas this can no longer be done as permission for parents would have had to have been sought etc etc!

So I will describe it. 2500 school children arrived at the show ground and were met by Stewards. They were then taken in their classes to various areas of the site . My group iconcentrated on meat, poultry and fish. How it is produced and how it is butchered. We saw chicks actually hatching in the poultry section which the children all loved. They were a little iffy about the pig / lamb section as there were actual carcasses there. We then went to to cultivation section, consisting of ploughing , foraging whole crop ( immature barley) and a talk about types of cereals we grow. Then off to the farm yard to see animals close up. Lunch over we had a visit to the craft tent to see rural craft displays and then we finished off the day with The Sheep Show, which I think was the best bit! Phew.

Mr Tbay Jnr took a tractor, the forager, and the rake to use as demos. Mr Tbay was on the cultivation section telling them all about preparation of seed beds and planting through to harvesting. A family affair.

Farming - Two out on compost . Rusty out with dump trailer early on and is now mowing ready for silaging in the morning! Man just come to see the rake which is still not performing properly. It's under warranty so that's ok!

Mr Tbay at a meeting tonight. I might go or I maintain stay at home and catch up on jobs!

Extra photo of Pip at tea time trying to pursued me that she did need a bit of chocolate brownie!
