Upton House and Garden

Today we went on the U3A Photographic Club outing to Upton House. It took a good two hours and we got there just after 11.00.  Our friends and us decided coffee was in order so after a loo break we went into the cafeteria and decided to have an early lunch.  We had house tickets for two so wandered around the gardens which were beautiful and full of flowers.  The house itself was interesting - they had done it up to represent how it would have been when the was broke out - and furniture was all covered over.  Apparently it was used as a bank in the war and the paintings were all sent to a Welsh Quarry for safe keeping.  An interesting day and the weather was kind.  We had one downpour but we were inside.
