Lichen

I forgot about Abstract Thursday. However, I was walking around among the bare limbs of various trees in my garden and found this soft green lichen growing on a branch of our bird sown cherry-plum tree . It grows just outside our back door and in Spring is a stunning mass of blossom.  As WW can tell you I am fascinated by lichen and hope to get much better at taking pictures of it as I gain experience. My extra is another winter discovery.  The open seed cases from my blue spruce.
