Maintenance

The 7.5 earthquake at 7:00 am turned out to be the city crews, hammering the sidewalk slabs to break them up for removal. Our sidewalk has been buckled and cracked from tree roots for all of the 13 years that we've lived here. The new, smooth one will be so much less jarring for snow shoveling and it appears that the damage to my street side garden has been minimal; more of an opportunity to redo some things I've been meaning to. Later today, when the cement truck pours the new one, I am tempted to sneak out there and leave my hand print but I'll probably get into trouble for it. How happy am I that this is getting done now and not when our visitors were here? Very.
