Visited morwahkee today. Super self sufficient Karen village of about 70 households way up in the jungle hills. This Grandfather scooted over to his little one so that I could take a family portrait. Met Alexa's thai friend Tu An who grew up on the border with Cambodia, married an Australian, and has a beautiful, very tall 7 year old son, visited Australia, studied English at university, visited Laos, speaks fluent Laos and khmer. She left /lost her husband and remarried a Karen farmer and now lives in this beautiful village in the back of beyond, where she is building a house and raising pigs, and one of the old ladies is teaching her to weave. It was fascinating to talk to her and I pelted her with questions. I wonder what it's like to live up there after the life she's had?
