An Sgùrr

This morning I caught the CalMac ferry to the Inner Hebrides island of Eigg.

I spent about 2 hours on this wonderful island. An Sgùrr, also known as The Sgùrr of Eigg, is one of the most dramatic of Scotland's lower hills. A gigantic block of volcanic rock, it is vertical on three sides but easily ascended on the fourth for amazing views.

This very much reminds me of that wonderful scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
