The Big Cruise Day 48: What it was all about

Canals existed for one purpose only - the carrying of cargo - and we're indebted to the thousands of volunteers who have dedicated themselves to preserving and restoring not only the canals but the working boats of times past. The canals would be much less interesting without them.
