Louise - Changing Natures

Berlin #Day1

As soon as we touched down at the hotel we headed out, and managed to see lots on the "To Do" List.

What a fabulous city - loving all the incredible parkland (complete with lots of red squirrels); the architecture; the history and the street art - old and new.

I'm ashamed to say though that before I came I wasn't aware of The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe - and was completely overwhelmed by it. A 4.7 acre site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs, undulating in rows across a grid pattern. Loaded with so much powerful metaphor I'm struggling to find words. Watching the shadows of rowan tree leaves dance in the wind on the slabs will haunt me.
