Mosman Park

In 1850,a public works programme began extracting limestone from the cliff faces here to use in the building of the new city of Perth.
Large blocks of stone were cut form the cliffs by convicts and transported by barge along the swan river, where they were used in construction of some of Perth's finest buildings.
Quarrying here in Mosman Bay continued for over sixty years, earning the nickname "Quarry Man's Bay"

My extra's are a view form the top of the cliffs where we stopped for lunch and a walk. the view of Perth City can be seen in the distance across the 1km. sand bar from Point Walter.
We then we drove around to Matilda Bay for coffee, another walk on a beautiful Winters day on the banks of the swan river, the red sales from the yacht was a lovely contrast on the water..
