Chester Raft Race

We went into Chester to watch the annual raft race today. It proved to be very entertaining and there was a good turn out.

There seems to be a tradition for people to throw eggs and flour off the suspension bridge on to the rafts below and it must be quite painful. I took some pictures from below the bridge and made the mistake of moving away from its protection and a couple of objects were thrown at me (unsuccessfully).

One of the highlights was UK Fly Board Champion, Jay St John, who was on hand to drench the crews as they returned up the river.

Today's blip bears a similarity to kwdiane's which shows a wider view.
