Vote

Our New Zealand elections are this weekend, yes, just 2 days after the US. Interestingly, unlike the US, we're probably about to ditch our centre left government and move centre right. One could argue that there is no real reason to, except that they have been there 9 years now, so it appears the general population believes it's time for a change.

Also of interest, whomever we elect probably doesn't really matter. As witnessed by the financial debacle in the US, the whole world is affected by who they elect on the 4th, and as a small country at the bottom of the world, well, we'll just have to accept whatever they give us. And then make the best of it.

Thankfully it won't be Bush, although that won't change the fact that on his watch he's gone to war in two countries, watched the world financial markets meltdown, and that he's got us all so terrified that now we can't get on a plane with anything more dangerous than a paper clip.

Job well done Dubya. Even here in NZ you have touched my life, unfortunately.

That all sounds a bit negative! My vote today wasn't though (I am away on voting day). I'd like to think any future government will think more about the people, and the planet, so I voted for those who are most likely to help realise this ;-)

Mods, that isn't a black border - it is photographed on a black background.
