Steam Event

A change for us today. The three of us are at Kirkudbright setting up our marquee at the Country Fair. It's a really lovely event, we've been coming here for a few years now.

One of the attractions is a display of steam engines. Over the years we've got to know the folk. The man on the left is on his knees beside his engine, giving a young man instruction on how it works. The field is bounded by an old railway embankment and this chap brings railway lines to give people short rides on the carriage he pulls.

I took some time off from setting up to get a shot of them working while the sun was shining.
