Desert Squirrel

Fruits of decay

We tend to photograph flowers at the perfect stage, with not a petal out of place, with anthers dripping pollen, everything looking fresh and new.  By the time the fruiting stage is reached, much of the plant is looking rather the worse for wear.  However, the fruits themselves are bursting with new life, at the expense of those other plant parts.
