Every home should have one!

This is part of a Talayotic settlement in a Farmer's field. It is one of many similar around the island of Menorca and date back to 3/4 centuries BC.....so quite old then. The history of them is vague and there are theories of sacrifice etc. They were possible communities with a large meeting building at its centre with a perimeter wall and a large stone with a balanced stone ( T ) at its heart to allow beam to span the gap and form a roof. Still with me? The one on the picture has been modified and is probably a burial chamber....but may not be! Note the light on top not part of original design and added more recently . Mahon airport is just up the road.
