Grey day

(This completes the backblips of the holiday which began on 28th June)

Empty decks, grey skies, wet handrails - we have arrived home to Rosyth. As passengers donned their waterproofs and disembarked, the good ship Boudicca felt somewhat like the Marie Celeste - but already the staff were busying themselves in preparation for the next group of passengers eagerly waiting to board in the afternoon.

In the distance of the shot you can see the new 65,000 tonne aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth which was built at Rosyth and floated last July. It is the UK's largest war ship and the sister vessel, HMS Prince of Wales, is currently under construction.

Back to 'auld claes and porridge' now!
