Gotcha!

This was a real find! I wasn't expecting to see this female Banded Demoiselle as I walked around the lake after work. My first view was of it's silhouette on the reeds and I knew straight away that it wasn't the usual damselfly as it was too big.

The next problem was how to get a clear shot of it without fallng into the lake. I stood as close to the water as I dared, held back the reeds hoping I wouldn't disturb it and took many shots with one hand. I just hoped I'd get lucky. I was even happier when she flashed her wings a few times to give me this view.
