The Great Office Bake-Off

We held a do in the office today to say farewell to the Director who is moving to work at another university.  He's a renowned baker so we surprised him with a bake-off to judge.  In Paul Hollywood garb and role he pronounced my effort an 'Eiffel Tower sized strawberry sponge' and the winner in the 'showstopper' category.  I have a limited baking repertoire so if you want to see what the cake looked like there's a similar one here.  The bake-off cake disappeared I'm glad to say. There were various other surprises including the recitation of a personal poem and a piper so a good send off as well as a good bake off.
