Tui in Flight

It has been my ambition for a while to capture a tui in flight and today I managed it. The middle of the day was not a good time to be taking photographs and many of the shots suffered from the strong sunlight. It is not that sharp either - but it is a tui in flight.

It has been a very entertaining day as six tuis fought, played,sang and romanced each other in the tree where I have the feeder. It seems very early for spring fever to have struck them but I suppose it is only a month and a half until spring and the day was warm and sunny.

They went through 1.5 litres of sugar water today, although some of that was lost when they tipped the jar over in their boisterous enthusiasm.

They repaid me well with song and antics..
