Quiver Tree Forest

This Forest is one of Namibia's National Monuments. We visited it on our long drive from Windhoek to Bagatelle on our first day of our self-drive part of the holiday.  The name of the tree is derived form the fact that the San people( Bushmen) used to hollow out the branches to use as quivers.
Later on in the week, while we were near the Fish River Canyon, we saw many dead and dying quiver trees.  We were told that they have an unidentified disease and research is being done to find the cause and cure.  I hope they find it soon.
