New Year, New Life

Crick's Corner cafe take two

A few doors along the road from me there used to be a corner shop. The Indian couple who ran it retired and it stood empty for a couple of years although the flats above were redeveloped.
So I was quite excited earlier this year when it reopened as a coffee shop/cafe. But disappointingly they only served coffee/food using disposable plates/cups and the coffee was indifferent so I didn't give them much custom and wasn't surprised when they closed.
Now new proprietors are about to give it another go - opening on 27 July. Will they be more successful? We shall see. Two things they have going for them are that they are local (live in the next street) and will be using ceramic crockery from the local pottery.
Why Crick's Corner? Crick was the person who owned the shop before Fred and Sue (the Indian couple) and there's an old ghost sign on the wall of the shop (see article linked to above).
