Hello

It's a tad bit disconcerting to be taking pictures of flowers and then to be aware of a face looking back at you!

We finally managed to get enough wind to blow away enough midges so we could plant our herbs in the new raised flowerbed. Ten planks of wood, two perspex 'windows', twelve metal brackets, eight metal joining strips, twenty-four bolts, twenty-four nuts, twenty-four washers, one set of dodgy chinglish instructions, nine pupils and one lesson in patience.

It took five bags of compost to fill, but it was worth it. Everyone got to build something, carry something and plant something. The lavender appears to have a personality now!

And by the end of the day there was a dirty great foot print squashed into the middle of it all!
