coffee morning

At church we decided recently to hold a monthly coffee morning and today was our first. You never know who, if anyone, will turn up but today we had to put out extra tables and seats. As a church we make very little money from such events, but it's a great chance to welcome local people in to chat over fairly traded coffee/tea. We're also hosting ward surgeries for our city councillors Danny and Margaret (featured in the extra photo to the right of the picture) giving people a chance to talk to them about whatever is on their mind. We also had a family in selling some incredible cakes, raising funds for 14-year-old Becca who's needing surgery for a tumour of the optic nerve. It meant I missed out on being out and about with my camera today, but it was well worth the sacrifice. Holiday coming up, so plenty of time to be more creative and hopefully my new lens will arrive before we head north to Skye.
